Finally got to try out a tip I saw online! Shooting into the sun, especially with foliage, makes it glow. It adds depth, and color, and interest (possibly the most important?).
Interesting fact: the blooms on this tree, before the leaves start coming out, are like catnip for squirrels.
We have this little guy that is out there almost every morning. And he’s not dainty either – he grabs one stalk in one paw, another stalk in the other paw, and inhales those blooms. Wee little cheeks bulging, flower bits and pollen drifting from his maw, chomping away.
Happily, it doesn’t seem to harm the tree, otherwise we might try and do something other than watch him out the front window.
