The first bloom of color on the leaves of this maple tree brings joy to many hearts, mine included. The slight coolness in the air, even though it’s still 80 outside.. Ahh. Fall has arrived! My animal instinct for sweatshirts and comfy boots can finally be fulfilled.
This picture, I really like. Even though it’s not the standard shot of a fully turned maple leaf, with beads of dew littering its surface and the first rays of sunlight glistening on its thin yet shapely veins.
No, this is a (lovely) picture of a leaf, sitting on my desk. This is digital evidence of an photographer making the best out of coming home late after class and realizing she still needs to do her shot. THIS IS ART IN MOTION, YOU GUYS. I’m not sure you understand the brevity of this moment.
Just take a moment.
Soak it in.
Breathe deep the gathering gloom. Or whatever happens to be gathering close to your breathing apparatus at the time.
